So I decided to play around with the cam timing on my 2.7 to see what effect it will have on the low down torque. On my previous diesel I wired an LED with the appropriate resistor straight from the glow plug power bar to see how long the glow plugs stay on. On the Mazda the two also worked independantly, why I don't know.

The cotton and foam filters both work on the same principle. IIRC the oil is positively charged to attract the finer dust particles which are negatively charged. The throttle body has a TPS or throttle position sensor connected to the butterfly flap which gives the throttle position info to the ECU. The Unichip can switch to a different map under full throttle with more aggresive timing and fueling.

On the 2.7 you do not need to T in anywhere to switch the spotlight relay. Toyota kindly provided a positive switching spotlight connection right next to the battery. Male spade terminal to the relay and Bob's your uncle.

Just an update - Rather use the genuine Toyota oil seal 90311-66003, I have had 2 of the cheap generic oil seals pop out and rub agains the axle causing the seal to overheat and spill some of the grease.

I bought a similar one but it does not want to establish coms with the ECU, it doesn't work on my Wife's Renault either - not that that surprises me. I will let you know when I get something that works.

In this case it it is definitely the Chip, nothing wrong with the ISC, at least you dont have to fork out R4500 for a new one like Toyota wanted you to do.

Hope they can sort you out. The reason why I am saying it is unlikely that the chip is the problem is because the ISC (idle stabilisation control) is still done by the OEM ECU. There are two wires directly from the factory ECU which controls the opening (RSO) or closing (RSC) and one directly to bat...
