Re: 2.8 Hilux Unichip Q4

Hi Guys, does this mapping/chip affect the warranty? what is TSA say about this ? It most definitely does. But most guys just unplug them before a service . Which in my opinion is rather unethical. We had a member here who burnt holes in three different D4d engines each time with WOT and overfuelin...

Re: Watter Lexus enjin is hierdie?

I am not sure if it is a lexus box, or just adapted std SFA box, i guess that would make a difference, I have only seen pics of the lux, will hopefully visit today and then try to make out, tx again for the help

Re: 2.7 vvti or 3.0 d4d??

i know the 3.0d4d is a great machine but hard to find and expensive due to demand (talking second hand), is the 2.7 really that bad compared to the d4d?? thinking of upgrading as well due to the need to drive more for work these days, if fuel consumption is out of the pic - how is the 2.7 otherwise?...

Re: Problems filling up my SFA's long range diesel tank ??

Hi All - so the problem stopped - don't know how don't know why :problem: It is now as it used to be - still slow when it starts running over to the extra tank, but at least the first 80L goes as normal, my guess - as was said above that is was  the breather pipe which somehow unblocked itsel...

Re: rught engine for 98' sfa hilux

Hi Jarus, interesting point about the 50 odd 2.8D still around, must say that for every d/c SFA I see probably 1 in 50 is a 2.8D, (or still seems to be), mine is easily identified by the diesel smoke on pull away and gear shift   I must say I would like the power of the lexus, but won't co...

Problems filling up my SFA's long range diesel tank ??

Hi All, hope this post finds all well, please help with possible causes and solutions on filling my long range tank. I bought the vehicle with the tank fitted - apparently a 50liter added to the std 80 ltr tank, but whether it's empty, half or full it takes diesel VERY slowly, with lot's of bursts c...

Re: Loadhog blades to back suspension?

Thanks Johan, I must add that the vehicle did not handle bad at all! and the load in the back was probably more the culprit than the caravan (which was evenly loaded), I am also sceptical that's why I wanted some opinions.

Loadhog blades to back suspension?

Hi All, I know the best option on suspension is the total upgrade, but up until such time I can afford it - what is your opinion on the addition of the loadhog blades?? see pic attached. My hilux definitely need some support at the back (was evident last weekend when I loaded the back and hooked up ...

Re: Hallo almal!

Thanks all for the great welcome, it's obvious that a suspension upgrade should be priority, I guess this is important if you plan to do high level 4x4, or extreme 4x4, would you guys categorize the std suspension sufficient for normal (occasional) 4x4 need :?: Also if I do upgrade the suspension, t...
