There must have been something seriously wrong with your 4Y Hilux. Mine could do 110 in 3rd at 5000rpm.... i had two 4y's. One SA built and one import. Import one was knew, with less than 10000km on the clock. Both struggled up Sir Lowry's Pass hill. Flat ground, it was OK... but any hill... :frust...

there is some truth in what you saying Craig. But it's honestly not that practical all the time, especially with petrol engine. I have been thru the range of hilux engines. Starting with the good old 2.2 donkey. Believe me, Sir Lowry's Pass.... 5 guys with just their weekend fishing tackle and mosly...

10km / l for a SFA is very good.
Compared to the petrol cousin who gets about 5 - 6 km / l...

The 10km / L is D4D range.. just that kidney damage though :mocking:

SO i did some digging into this little magic switch. It's called a thermal fuse. It's purpose is to "pop" when the oven gets too hot. This may be for various reasons. Some ovens have self cleaning option where it goes above normal max temps , and sometime the thermal fuse mistakes this for dangerous...

I got it and I'm not all that impressed. It's feels very flimsy. Almost as if a crowbar could easily bend it open. I haven't tried it, but it looks as if deflating the tyre would allow for the clamp to just fall off. I wouldn't expect it to offer any security. i think takealot got 7 day no question...

Eish... that sounds like ALOT to do to change the engine.
Not to mention scary... changing the sump with lower capacity than the 3.0 was designed for.
Not for me thanks.

Don't know if Quantam came with 3.0, but for hilux, i'd rather sell 2.5 and buy 3.0

I think i was with Cartrack before... then i asked about payouts... Since i also had insurance on the vehicle... so does Cartrack and insurance pay me out... Nope apparently the CarTrack payout goes to the insurance company... So you pay the heavy excess, and they still get the money from the tracki...

I just remember him posting the invoice on our group chat and i nearly fell off my chair... radiator, hoses, pumps... i think they basically redid everything cooling. As i said, I'm not sure if it was just his bakkie that just needed some TLC or if it a general...
