So i popped in by local tyre shop this morning. Conveniently this guy open on Sunday morning, so you don't have to rush everything on a Saturday.
Fitted the 265/65/17 onto the standard 17" steelie. Saving me have to fork out a couple of Ronds for another mag rim. Thanks again Pieter

For question one, I think it's a safety feature. Winding down with one press does not pose a risk to fingers, but winding up could crush small kiddies fingers and do some damage to adult fingers. Maybe worth checking the injectors while you at it? I know of the injector issues with the 3.0. I don't think i heard of issues with the 2.5

Looking at the above comparison, should i rather be looking for a rim to put that 265 on.
with the difference in diamater between the two tyres, does it not mean the bakkie could be a bit lobsided if i have to use the spare?

is going that big not going to mess up you fuel consumption (V6 already eina) and speedo reading. I actually just went the opposite route. i need to run it along the lenght of canopy.
When i put rod holders on i need to move it as far apart as possible, to the front and back to support rods.
Whereas a tent supports would be more in middle of canopy

i was just looking at that dax, perhaps reuse the holes the current rivets made. the little lip on the underneath, that the plate riveted to, is about 10mm wide. so my alternator also gave up... took it out to repair at sparky..
but in the process had to remove one idler pulley else top alternator nut would not come out.

but when i put it back.. and refitted the idler puller... not sure how tight to make it... could one overtighten this pulley?

I also agree, it's as if the ECU takes a second to register the load before adjusting fuel, and by then revs too low and you left looking like noob behind the wheel. i went thru this exercise recenlty. correct size is 668 / 668p - the "p" is apparently for the battery with the terminals on the correct side i called a couple of place for prices: Toyota varied from branch to branch - +-R1800 Battery Center (which apparently supplies toyota) - over R2000 ...

I've been eyeing the revo as well , and swambo been eyeing me :aggresive: i also thought about the 2.4. Specs alludes to a more than capable vehicle, even for towing.. at 400nm it should pull a fair load - but in real world... not too sure if will be able to pull a caravan over a pass at a decent sp...
