Re: Suspicious green box

Hi Shirom, A while back BP had a system (maybe they still do) where you could fill up and the amount is debited to an account, company account normally and they gave a bulk discount. Masana was the scheme name I think. The system worked like this: The nozzle from the fuel pump has a sensor and it is...

Re: KZTE Security

Hi I realise this is an old topic but I have had my KZTE for a while now and have been thinking about how to make it more secure. I see from the post Oooms and Donkey have some suggestions and pm's were sent. Would someone be so kind to forward me some of those mails please. I also have some ideas w...

ABS LIGHT ON

Good news is that I solved the problem and I thought I will log a topic, maybe it is of use to someone else. I have recently had problems with my wife's car's ABS....and now my KZTE. I started with the diagnosis: - bridged tc and e1 in the diagnostics port and counted the flashes - 49 flashes which ...

Re: Engine sitting at 172,000 Km's and with problmens

Ai Martin what a story, I wonder if my ticking noise is maybe my injectors. I am going to take my car to Dastek in Monument Park and they must test the injectors and remap my chip. Will also ask them about the valves.

Re: Recommended workshop in Pretoria?

Try Dastek. Look up details on net. I have had a couple of things done there and always very happy. Recently had injectors serviced at them. Good service and right price.

Re: Radio Modification

On my 2010 Prado 150 the greying out of various functions on the screen also irritated me and also loads of other owners. Ask your local Toyota agent as they are sometimes willing to install a switch (at your own risk) so that you can operate the functions that are grey'd out. It is apparently just ...

Sterkte!

Re: 2003 KZTE Noise

Ek is nogal pynlik oor die Hilux so alles is tip-top. Die bottel is silverskoon en die coolant word elke 2 jaar geflush. Die geluid kom def van die enjin self. Het jy al ooit valve gaps gestel?

2003 KZTE Noise

I have noticed that my KZTE has developed a noise and it only really noticable on start-up in the morning, sounds like loose tappets of old. Vehicle has 200 000km's. Should I maybe have the valve clearances checked and set? Any other ideas? It is definately engine related - but sounds to be head not...

I always go to Dastek in Monument Park. Attached is the DYNA for my 2003 4x4 KZTE with Intercooler and Unichip. Now have 187 000km and previous DYNA done at 129 200km and at 130 000 after I replaced the Injector tips. Results: 129 200km before 112.3kw@3000rpm after 107.6 (they tell me it was over fu...

Re: KZTE Overheating Issue

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have replaced the thermostat and coolant and flushed the engine, I also cleaned the radiator and intercooler - not a difficult job but takes time. I agree, I will change coolant and thermostat every 2 years and maybe, just maybe I'll buy a new radiator and install t...

Re: KZTE Overheating Issue

I love my Hilux so much :yahoo: Yes I will keep on doing what I am doing, the reason I am thinking about replacing the radiator and the viscus is because: - I read on this or another forum (cannot remember) that someone replaced the radiator and for that person it felt as if the Hilux was driving be...

KZTE Overheating Issue

I know that this topic has been discussed to many times for anyone to remember but I still need advice on whether I should spend the money and do the following: - Buy a new radiator - Replace the Viscus Clutch on the Fan - Fit the Turbologix EGT if there is absolutely nothing wrong with my Hilux and...
