Hi Ryan,

It's an extra diesel filter, fitted before the factory fitted diesel filter.
It is supposedly much better than the original. (I only heard good things about this filter so far, even from sources outside of this forum)

Checked my father-in-laws' D-4D and his doesn't even have such a wire.

Don't know if I should connect it.

I do not have any meters to test if there is power on the cable, not inclined that way.

I personally am not a huge fan of the rocksliders that attach to the chassis. In my mind any additional hole drilled decreases the strength of the chassis. m2cw I personally feel the same as you on this one.
