So there are 2 injectors inside the throttle body I guess acting the same way as what a carb would. I also wondered about the ecu part with it probably having to be synchronized. there is so little information on the internet about it though. So a quick random search and I came across a Weber retroject throttle body that basically is a direct replacement for a Weber carb (38 Dgas in my case) that has every linkage and design of the Weber 38 that is an EFI system. So never ended up putting the 7mge in, rather rebuilt the 4y and staying with the carb...
So another 7MGE up for sale. sad to not have felt what it would feel like but my gut said stick to the 4y when i started looking around in nelspruit for standard service items

Didn't think about it to be honest, replaced them when I rebuilt the motor so havnt explored the idea of removing them through the valve cover but I guess it makes sense

So the lifters I got from alert engine parts was Mahle clevite 213-1638, the guy said it's for the chev 350 hydraulic lifters. I contacted masterparts to see if they have stock of the HYT04-04, if they do I will just get them as I think this is my problem. I guess not all lifters are equal. Ha ha. O...

Ok so I started driving the vehicle and the tappets started getting noisy again and there is not much oil coming through the rockers , I'm wondering, I went for chev lifters for chev 350, is there possibly a wrong chev lifter to buy? The shape and size was roughly the same

Ok so it was the very first start up, I decided to wait it out and run to see what happens 🙈, it's the Chevy lifters that I bought new. Ended up taking about 5 minutes to eventually go quiet. Felt like a make or break situation

Just rebuilt my 4y and have the oil pump getting to the oil filter but not seeing it get to the rockers after idling for 2 minutes, so out of fear of breaking something I stopped running the motor. Hi Dawie,

just to check, are you talking about different SFA models using different brakes? because i did notice the manual i worked off showed dual return springs on the bottom but i only had single in my lux, although i have all the hooks for the second spring aswell.

to be honest i wasn't really wondering to much about increasing pressure the same way a turbo does, more along the lines of helping the engine out a little so it doesn't need to work as hard to suck in the normal air, so the carb would still correct the air fuel mixture. but wasn't to sure if it was...

Van der linde is quality stuff, how did it work out in the end? Ettienne is also a lekker guy. RG in my opinion seems to be a little more helpful only when you talking Big money conversions, for small jobs they come across as a little uninterested.

So i decided to purchase a compression gauge out of pure interest as to what my oil leaking motor is really doing, so i hooked the compression gauge onto each cylinder to get a reading, all 4 cylinders returned extremely close values of between 900-920 kpa, my workshop manual says standard is 1225kp...

Just wan ask before i decide to climb under the car, The SFA feels perfectly smooth when in 2WD, but as soon as i lock the hubs or engage 4x4 i pick
up a pretty rough vibration, could it be the front prop shaft spider bearings (my Guess), or the swivel hub bearing adjustment?

Sounds good to me, got a bit stressed cos having to put a new steering arm will cost a human arm from toyota, was just shocked the other day at the price of tie rods. didnt want to put in new seats and then they wear down super fast to match the ball.
