Yes u can put on top of the cab. Thats how i have done it often - no problems and many kms travelled. You just need to get load bars mounted bug they are relatively cheap. This allows you to load a 2nd spare wheel on top of the canopy. And you can load your jerry cans, wood or any thing else on top...
