Right front sideshaft leaking oil

Hi all Yesterday I saw that the front right wheel arch is wet on the inside. When I took a closer look I saw that it is oil and from the smell and density of it I can confirm that it is Diff/ Gearbox oil. What is strange is that the inner rubber boot (on the sideshaft) is dry (in fact, its dry from ...

Recently replaced my old Gabriel safari's with Monroes. Made a huge difference in handling. Also not that expensive (I think it was R2700).

ABS light comes on...

Hi The ABS light on my 2002 2.7i Hilux comes on when I am pulling a relatively heavy trailer. It goes off when the trailer is not connected. This only happens with a trailer, not when the Hilux is loaded. Also, this happened only recently. I read some articles regarding ABS lights that comes on, but...

Re: Best SFA tyres for Mileage and Sand?

When we bought the echo trailer it came with 3 ATX tyres (2 fitted and 1 for a spare). The Hilux was on Dueler A/T's but they were due to be replaced. Since a trailer do not cause any noticeable wear on a tyre it only gets old and perished on a trailer. We then bought another Firestone ATX and place...

Hmmmmmm ask Cassie what the disadvantages are of having diff-lock on in 2H. It is not always a bad thing, you just need to focus a little more. I agree you should remember that the difflock is on. In Cassie's case and when you go back onto tarred roads. its very effective, because often you need so...

Wiring for deep cycle batteries in trailer

We came in need of deep cycle batteries in the Echo 3 Offroader trailer because most of the remote campsites do not have electricity.
