I'd prefer the V6 over the V8, The extra power of a V8 is unwarranted, not able to be handled by the Lux drivetrain, The motor is thirstier and the mod is a lot more complicated. I assume that with the V6, I can still get away without beefing up the front suspension as I have full OME with 6 leaves ...

It' definitely a cycad and looks like the Japanese / Chinese Cycad, not indigenous, no permit required. They are hardy, and tollerate full sun conditions and a little more worm resistant than the indigenous types. They also take a long time to grow, don't get vey big and can become quite bushy in id...

I have a pair of spots fitted to the rear of the canopy, connected to a seperate toggle switch, facing backward to assist with reversing at night. Another thing they come in handy for is when some idiot is driving behind with highbeam on, a two second flash of those soon rectifies the problem. :mrgr...

My '90 model 4y gives me similar or better consumption than Louis' and is also still carb aspiration. Definitely sounds like a 'cooked' relay. Even if it's not, replace anyway, they're quite inexpensive, and yours was getting hot indicating bad contacts inside.

If you still have a 4Y in there, you're going to find it a bit sluggish with the 33's. For me 31's seemed to be more acceptable iro power, and fit without any mods.

Definitely makes more sense than mounting below, exactly for the reasons you mentioned, and of course it would be prone to damage. If an underslung mounting was better overall, the manufacturers would be doing it.

I think you did the right thing and the KB 280 scoop is a handy snippet of info.

As I understand it, a body lift is different to a suspension lift (raised suspension). Which are you interested in? A body lift is spacing the body higer off the chassis and is usually done for accommodating mods that do not otherwise fit, like big motors and big wheels etc. but does'nt give you any...
