Why not put the rails across the canopy (perpendicular to the vehicle long axis), rather than along the canopy? That way you can secure them to the cross braces with through bolts rather than to the edge.

The LN165 is either the 2L-T or one of the 2L/3L/5L family of diesel engines. As far as I know, they all use a manual diesel pump, not electronic. The only electric part is the solenoid valve on the diesel pump. I'd start with that.

The switch on the headlight stalk (post?) operates a relay that is probably behind one of the footwell covers in either the driver's or passenger's footwells. If you tap into the wire downstream of the relay, and wire it to the 86 pin on a 4 pin relay, it will carry enough current to switch the rela...

Agree with Thabo, the main concern these days is the condition of the body. Rust and general wear and tear (mounting point condition) account for the majority of the price difference since most mechanical things can be repaired or replaced easily enough, but body work is very expensive

Yes, the grease from the swivel hubs gets into the diff oil. The oil seal on the end of the axle housing at the knuckle wears and then the oil runs into the steering hubs and combines with the grease. You can usually see it dripping off the bolts on the bottom of the hub. The diffs run different oil...

Nice bakkie (except that bullbar to my eyes!). The leak into the footwell is likely from the panel under the wipers. Leaves and debris collects there, then dams up the drain holes into the fenders and then rust through. At least that was the case on both SFAs I owned. Remove the panel and the fender...
