The stinger should also be angled a bit more forward than in my drawing.

The fuel solenoid will only open when current is supplied to it. Similarly the relay that probably controls it will be in the "normally open' configuration, i.e. it will require current to close the circuit supplying power to the solenoid. So I doubt that it will be a loose connection and betti...

Hi Danie. Yes it makes sense. As you know, a diesel doesn't require any electrical input at the motor to keep running - as long as there is fuel being injected it will carry on. If the fuel cut-off solenoid was sticking in the open position, then you would be able to start as normal, but not switch ...

Also don't like the "spare wheel tanks" .... better to put a spare back in it's place and increase the capacity of the tank itself. The side by side tanks are problematic, especially with filling (air-locks). One should have a breather pipe linking the tanks at the top and a reasonable dia...

I'm guessing here and would imagine you'll only get an extra 1½ to 2 KW with a gas flow, not something that you're really going to notice easily on the pedal. Over time the little extra fuel saving might justify it. The first thing I would look at though would be any air-flow restrictions snorkel an...

A gas flowing of the head will always give a little better performance but the gains hardly warrant the effort / expense in my opinion. Then I'm not so sure about the cam .... You're getting a bit of "blow-by" on the rings ... understandable with an old motor. That's where the smell and venting at the filler cap comes from, so no worries there. How old is the radiator cap? Could be that its playing up and you're losing a bit of water through the reservoir overfl...
