If you can, get the ones with the knurling, they grip better. Also make sure that you get the exact drill bit size you need, otherwise they can start to rotate if the hole is too big. Silverton Radiators in Benoni re-cored mine ( with copper core) and only used the tanks from the old one.

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I haven't don't it yet - you Guys scared the #%$@# outta me so I've now got cold feet. Spoke to a couple of "4x4 fitment centres" and they want to charge me between R1000 - R1300 to fit. So I'm toying with that and trying to motivate that that's the right way to go.

Spray Prepsol on it, get in with a brush ( like a toilet style brush) and try and scrub off what you can with the prepsol, then hose off with a pressure washer.

Agree with MD on the helpers and specifically having it shaped so it stiffens progressively, this way you should have a normal ride unloaded and supported when loaded.

Yes they do carry critical spares with them, like control arms, brake calipers, belts, small stuff that can be changed to get out of the stage. Leroy finished 10th after a great drive where he lead the stage for awhile - be interesting to hear what happened

Water pump for 7MGE engine

So it looks like the water pump is failing on my 7MGE engine, there's coolant leaking somewhere close to the pulley and some coming out the little hole at the bottom.

Anybody got ideas on where to get a new one - quality and best price. I'd rather compromise on price for good quality.
