I bought a 2004 v6 Prado about 4 months ago for R180 000 with 161 000km's on the clock. Best buy ever !!

Is bly dis iets kleins gewees. My 2,5 het vandag oorgeslaan 300 000km's toe. Sover nog net die starter bendix gedoen vir R 630 en die master cylinder vir R1100. So R 1730 gespandeer oor 300 000km dink ek nie is te sleg nie.

As hy n chip in het sal Toyota se dat hy n excessive fuel leakage het, dit is dan gewoonlik die chip wat foutief is, anders dink ek is dit maar n injector.

Oooms het ook so probleem gehad as hy idle op sy 2,5, dit was n foutiewe injector as ek reg onthou.

Ek dink die RAV sal dalk nie so hoog op die "steel lysie" wees soos die Fortuner nie. Anders as dit sal ek die Fortuner vat.

It is anyway not bad practice to have an intercooler sonic cleaned every 12 months.

Thanks for the info Darren, I always let the engine idle before switching of, sometimes I let it idle for 20 minutes. The bakkie is chipped at SAC on 140 000km's, it has done 297 000km's to date.

Diesel, I change it with every service.I only use 50 ppm diesel and synthetic oil.

Regarding fuel consumption, my 2,5 d4d gives me a average of 6 - 6,5 km/l over the last 4 tanks. But I always have a trailer in tow with masts and equipment on. My 4.0l V6 Prado gives me better consumption than this.

Ek het die fout gekry, ek sal n foto moet laai dat julle kan sien wat die fout was. Elkgeval, daar is n klien dun pypie wat op die turbo is, weet nie wat hy doen nie maar hy spring af in die ry, het hom terug gesit en als is reg. Dankie vir almal se insette.
