I have fitted a kzte motor with 5Lt manual pump and got a bell housing from importers.There is some modifications and there is a huge difference in power.

Thanks all I fixed it this morning but had to find out how to get the lug in the end had a spare and figured out that if you push the ratchet springs down it will move forward past the last notch.

If you have the time summons the owner too small claims court for your losses as he has to appear himself and he will more than likely settle due to his time not being worth the money owed.

Another 2 cents from me is that check the stopping power as the pistons seize up good indicator is hit the breaks on a dirt road at about 50 and see if you get drag marks from all 4 wheels.

I think it is the luck of the draw.I got a motor from a mate with a manual pump and it runs well(touch wood or something) and have towed the wilk but still need to do a proper test.As to not revving the motor I helped someone start a Isuzu last weekend and he gave it revs so that it would not become...

Richard I have a SFA and the lights are not that good but on my last trip to the northwest I found that the old spots really made a difference although there was 130 w globes in.They are a cheep way of getting extra light and if you break them you wont be that upset.

Geoff have a look at some of the engine importers as when I had a 4Y they were willing to swop carb for fuel injection manifold and that consumption looks very high looks as if something is wrong maybe speak to kempton carb and they might have some advise.

At the auctions a good hilux are going above book and sometimes even retail so I asked one of the second hand dealers and he said he sells them above retail in a lot of cases.

In terms of comfort remember that when a SFA is loaded as I expect you would be they are a lot better in the ride department than when empty.
In terms of Engine in the SFA 2.4 diesel or 4y,but as they say it would be wise to get someone to find you a good one.

Bendan the problem with easy outs is that the expand the metal it may be cheaper to find out from the workshops etc on people that specialize on stud removal on sight and in the van.otherwise tap/alan key/youtube.

Have had a Toyota diesel blow a radiator and it was due to blowing a head gasket.The compression was going into the water jackets.Suggest buy a compression tester and run through the 4 x cylinders.

The simplest way is to take a thick wire from the battery + and hold it on the glow plug rail for 6 to 10 seconds and then start in the morning(so you will need a assistant).Be careful that the wire does not burn your fingers as glow plugs pull allot.

when I got my first sfa the hubs would not lock and all I done is removed the bolts(10mm socket) then cleaned it with paraffin as the grease was solidified this may be your problem,should take less than 2 hours.look on the forum there is a step by step for hub seals but you only have to do the first...

Nico it was a LUK,but as I found out there is three different flywheels for the KZTE/D4d.When I phoned around the recessed flywheel that had the 260mm clutch plate was the expensive one.the one I have in is the 250mm non recessed flywheel.

I went the Kzte route and it is an improvement on what I had before.Engine R19000/bellhousing R1250/Flywheel R850/Clutch kit R1300/Exhaust R850/pipeing etc/R1000.
