FJ 40/45 but if you could find a BJ 40/42 / HJ45/HJ47 housing, even better !

Stef, you need to measure the max extension and compression lenths before you buy.Also compare the expected weight of your vehicle with that of the original vehicle that the particular shocks were intended for - some folks allow themselves to be blinded by max travel and ignore the rest of the facto...

Yes we used my original P/S box but it had just been completely rebuilt

I am convinced Olive will handle that and more.But we probably did overkill things a bit with the larger oil sump, cerramic coated headers + balance pipe, perfect fan shroud and very free flow zaursts - it all adds up to a perfect setup

So basically your "system" just ensures that the fuses and relays are kept in a safe place while the OEM ECU is retained ? Or have I missed something ? Your system solves none of the usual problems encountered when fitting a 1UZ VVTi to and older type vehicle equipped with a manual gearbox...

Nope, it is an original BJ 42 LX with H55F 5 sp box.They were all 4.11:1 ratio.

Mark, I would never do a conversion like this with the aim of improving fuel consumption - that is setting yourself up for huge dissapointment, IMHO. Stef there is a thread on LCCSA in the Hardcore section and then the main rebuild thread in the Legends section but here are a few ... About to drive ...

That is the ave at 120 + on the GPS(it inludes silly stuff like overtaking at 126 km/h in 3rd at 4600 rpm etc etc :oops: I suspect that once I calm down to travelling at a more sedate pace it will be better but I do think she is running a bit rich.Now that we are here at the coast we will remap/tune...

Naas, in some cases these motors have been sitting un-used for many years in those Japanese Wrecking yards.I suspect the motor will loosen up a bit as you continue clocking up the kilometers. Hoever I think if one does a conversion like this just to improve fuel consumtion then you are setting yours...

I have a SS at work with which you can play around with all gear ratios, diff ratio and tyre sizes to calculate reffs. PM me your e-mail addres and I'll send it to you. Must say, I forgot to mention, they have done allot on Olive as well Theo. The exhausts Mark did look really nice and professional with the balance pipe and all. Thanks Naas !
