Marekele is not a park to go to if you want to see lots of animals - rather go to Pilanesberg. But it has fantastic landscapes, bird and plant life which in my opinion makes up for it.

Apparently several guys are very happy with snomaster, sespecially their after sales service.

How do these fridges cope in the heat? I've got an absorption freezeer that works excellent below about 25 C but it becomes a warm fridge in 30 plus temps.

Nice bakkie and good choice. Damn right you can't even compare a Tata to a Hilux! I'd rather buy a 20 year old Hilux than a brand new Tata! The Hilux will still be going long after the Tata's kaput. :twisted:

Agree with the dual battery wiring in the load wiring, you should tidy that up a bit.

I'm just saying be very careful of spraying insecticides around the home. Some of these things are pretty harmful to your health, a lot worse than a spider bite over the long term, not just while spraying but for some time after spraying, the insecticdes tend to linger for some time before they brea...

Just be careful of spraying pesticides all over the place. Some can cause cancer. You could also be killing a lot of beneficial insects and possibly birds, frogs and lizards and other wildlife that eat spiders, cockroaches etc. Work with nature not against it :).

177 000 op die klok en volgende diens 180 000 en teen gemiddeld 3-5km op 'n dag gebruik is dit nog lank voor daai diens.
Moet ons nie elke 10 000 km of 6 maande (whichever comes first) diens nie?

Going to Mokala National Park near Kimberley, then onto Bontebok National Park near Swellendam, then onto De Hoop Nature Reserve near Witsand, then onto Anysberg Nature Reserve near Laingsburg and lastly to Karoo National Park near Beaufort West. Camping everywhere except Anysberg.

My Lux has got a padlock that fits through one of holes in the wheel, prevents it from being lowered. The body of the lock comes off and the "stud" part remains on the vehicle.

Had a look, both idler and pitman are worn and needed to be replaced. Bought the spares at Gemini Spares in Jo'burg for a total of about R1050 (vs about R3000 at Toyota :shock: :thumbdown: ). My brother-in-law helped me to replace them yesterday. Idler arm was qick but the pitman was stuck on there....

OK figured it out, the clips need to be squeezed from the two opposite sides. Easy if you know how.

The aerial is already off, it broke off, I want to take out the aerial body to fix it. With the clips still in there's no way I can get the liner off and it must be removed to get remove the aerial body. I'll try again this afternoon.

I bought a ball joint seperator from Midas for R 80 but it was too small :evil: I had to modify it a bit by grinding a piece out of it.
GTO, what size would you say it should be? I see one can also use a pitman puller. Which would be better?

I haven't looked what is wrong with the pitman arm yet - any tipis on what to look for? There's a bit of play on the steering and the service report (JBs in Cape Town) says idler and pitman arms require replacing. Autozone and Midas and have the idler arms (R650 and R219 respectively) but say pitman...

According to the last service report the idler and pitman arms on my 2000 Hilux 2.7 Raider DC 4x4 need to be replaced. Can anyone recommend spare shops in the Roodepoort/Krugersdorp area with good prices?

My vehicle was almost taken out by a speeding Mahindra Scorpio in KTP in December. The guy was coming round the bend on my side of the road. He swerved out of the way at the last second! Don't you know speed limits are rough guidlelines, you can drive any speed you want in this country! :evil:
