Auto Magneto also do rebuilds. I normally use them, they do good work.

Start with the cheepest item, replace the spark plugs. If still there replace the plug leads, if still there let somebody check out the injectors.

Depends on where it is leaking. Mine was leaking because the small clamp came loose. Fixed with strong cable tie and still going strong. If it leaks due to torn or cracked boot then it is a bigger problem. The CV does not like dust. If you drive on tar and hubs are un-locked, then CV does not turn, ...

I recently fitted new bearings to the Touareg's front diff and heated it to fit it. The first one I heated too much and it became blue.
Will that definately cause it to fail?

Make sure you have the bearing installed correctly. On one side is one hole and on the other side two holes. The one hole must face downward.

Just go check the car out before you get excited. I have been disapointed with many webuycars vehicles, they look great on the pictures but often not so great when you get there. Don't buy from them unless you saw it.

Pressure plate fingers should not be that flat, the point of the fingers should stand out a bit. Rather get the right thing. I think your clutch plate is too thick.

Thank you Mars, a couple of guys now said sometimes the noise goes away. Will see after the trip if the noise is still there. If it is there we will replace the thrust bearing.

Luckily release bearing only works when you apply the clutch, the longer the distance the less it works.

George and I went to fetch my Hilux after work today and got back hom at 21h00 There are still small things to sort out. The rev counter reads double the speed, so Allen disconnected it. The speedo is out by 20 km/h but before I do something about it I first want to see what revs it runs at 120 km/h...

Here is an interesting video about GL4 and GL5, BUT, also check the test the guy did with same viscosity of oils of different brands. This might explain why some oils result in sticky gears and others not. The video will start at 11:35 because before that he just shows how he strips a gearbox. Enjoy...

They tend to rust above the gutters. If you can see that it has been resprayed, focus on that area. The whole area, from front to back on the sides , just above the gutter. One of the 60 models are prone to develop a loose crank pulley, but I think it is the 2F, not sure. Otherwise I do not know of ...
