Had the chassis properly washed with a pressure sprayer before you start - it will prevent all the sand falling in your eyes and on you.

I would change the bearing again and this time an oil pump aswell.
If it fail again have the original engine reconditioned.
Kz conversion will not be cheap and you needs the Kz gearbox and computer box.

Is there a kickplate next to your left foot? It might be in there, just under the dash, close to the centre consol or in the engine bay.

Lets start with what engine are in you Lux? 2L with a turbo bolted on? Or a 2LT?
I guess it could be a worn seal or the like, maybe even a valve stem seal?

I would rather get another opinion at an independent workshop - Toyota workshops are know to think up ways to make you spend unnecessary money. But at some point you will look to replace the vehicle in any case? Currently the car market is way too crazy. Keep an eye out and when the right deal comes...

Easy fix - don't break so hard! In the wet you must be gentle on the brakes or the abs will be activated.
Also if you have oversize rims and tyres fitted it will influence braking negatively.

The old spec was 260mm and the newer ones 275mm.

Could you not bring the faulty gearbox to SA any have it repaired whilst you are here? Then you know exactly what you have.

Pity we in South Africa suck on the hind tit - we still had the Mk5 with Kzte engines! D4D was only available from late 2005 in the Vigo(Mk6) models. Same with the Prado - Our 120's had Kzte's and 150's D4D's. 150's Only got GD engines this year!

31's has a 7.3% larger circumference and diameter and are 29.6% wider. The 205's are 28.9 inches high vs, you guessed it, 31 inches! 205's does 698 revolutions per mile vs 651 of 31's. Hi Hampus, The LN series was never sold in South Africa - we had the RN, YN and progessed straight to the KZN series. As Andy said, we use KZN calipers and FJ75 vented disks. Also installing the KZN booster and master cylinder. Maybe just start by installing a new, standard master cylinder in yours?...

Since no ankle biter you can enjoy the space of the long loadbin.
All the 2.8 has more than the 2.4 is around 20kw and a few airbags. If you lust after.mkre power, a Unichip(and only a Unichip!) will sort you out!

The 22R responds VERY well to gasflowing and a mild cam. I'm sure you have been visiting www.lcengineering.com? First do a branch and 57mm freeflow exhaust and if you still lust after more power, go the gasflow route. I would keep the original carb, I don't think the gains with efi is worth the costs.

We always enjoy reading from our Hilux brothers all over the world, however, most members here are from Southern Africa, thus most of us have very little knowledge of suppliers down under. Please tell us more about your truck? What is the engine code? 5L, 1Kz or 1 Kd?...
