Re: SFA Double Cab Sound system
Flashband for the win! Gonna tape up the lovely rust holes in my windscreen drainage channel very soon as well:/ My actual plan echoed yours entirely - will use thin aluminium roof sheeting to form a 'quarter sphere' and fix it in place with strips of tape above and well removed from the speaker, li...

Chat to Hoppy (Allan Venter) - he's converted a few IFS's to fit 33's, maybe even 35's.

Re: SFA Double Cab Sound system
Has anyone devised a clever system to prevent water from dripping down the inside of the door skins onto the speaker magnets/cones? Something along the lines of a piece of contoured flashband above the speaker to divert water...

Re: SFA Dash Pad Removal
Thanks Nic, it's the side register removal that is messing me around - it won't budge and I'm worried about graunching the interior. Might have to clean the air vents in-situ then:)

Re: 1995 SFA Gearbox/Transfer Oil Levels
Thanks Nic, it is actually the re-tempering/tensioning of the leaves I am looking at. I'm not sure whether to go hot or cold and which will last longer. My truck has had the saddles done and strengthened already, probably when they installed the OME leaves..

1995 SFA Gearbox/Transfer Oil Levels
Pulling the filler plugs off the gearbox and transfer case of my 1995 (G52 gearbox and standard transfer box) I note that the oil pours out the transfer filler (about 200ml) and nothing out the gearbox filler (can't reach the oil when I stick my finger in). The truck is on a level surface with the n...

SFA Dash Pad Removal
Stunning orange lux as the feature pic at the moment:) Can anyone please advise on how to remove the dash pad (foam section in front of the passenger) of an sfa? I have the screws and m10 nut off but it aint budging - I believe there are some clips closer to the windshield but they seem extremely ti...

Re: SFA Double Cab Sound system
Surely a drip through the exterior vent on the C-pillar is also a possibility? Pulling off the shroud you can see the interior skin through the rectangular vent in the exterior skin.. If so I could merely flasband the vents closed:)

Re: 22R Choke Idle Speed Adjustment
I've also had the aluminium canopy in the back of my mind for a while, although that means an extra 10k or so for a MIG, which I don't have - the 10k nor the MIG:) Motor is running smoothly now although the choke does not work. There appears to be no current delivered to the choke thermal spring thr...

Re: 22R Choke Idle Speed Adjustment
Well Mr Mud Dog Thank you for the info. After the replacement of various seals, axle shift, mods, and a good deal of reading I finally got my head around this carb - worked out that it was missing the idle mixture adjustment screw. Previous owners had replaced it with an allen key bolt...??? Just to...

22R Choke Idle Speed Adjustment
Hi All I have a 1995 22R with the Brospeed mod - upon cold starting the motor runs at rather high revs (2000-2500rpm) until it has warmed up and I have blipped the throttle. I have ploughed through the manual and am at a slight loss as to how this may be adjusted down to more driveable revs so can a...

Re: Gearmax/Local diff torque wrench specs?
Hi vanthev8man Please tell me from where you attained this information? I have searched high and low, tried the agents, phoned Gearmax themselves and it seems near impossible to get hold of a workshop manual for the local diff. Do you have a copy that you would possibly share? I need to perform an o...

Thanks Mud Dog
I would have thought that the rears would possibly wear faster obviously because they are the driving wheels but also due to engine braking as well. I will take your word for it - on the front they go!

Sifu-lux would you mind specifying the brand of 2K you used on your rims and whether or not it has held up well?

Re: Sifu-lux's Project 33" MT and more...
I haven't done the measurements yet but has anyone considered merely heating up the appropriate sections of an original drag link and bending it into a shape similar to Sifu-lux's final product? With an axle shift and a suspension lift of a certain height you won't need to cut and weld at all. I am ...

Tyre Wear
Hi Guys I have recently purchased two new Kumho 33x12.5xR15's to add to my existing two Kumho 33's that have approx. 60% tread left. I generally drive my unmodified (except for the front axle shift) '95 Hilux SFA rather sedately in 2wd (rwd) on road. The question is should I place the two new tyres ...

Re: Hi! My Diff blew up - Please help!
Can anyone enlighten me as to why the local rear diff has no apparent breather - or even a drain plug for that matter? Wouldn't the lack of a breather be detrimental to the seals???
