I doubt if one would get excessive wear as a result of more tension...if you look at the drag link the spring is in the front part of the barrel on one end and in the rear part on the other end. Kinda what I thought, but I wanted some more tension so that it is a bit stiffer to prevent steering play on bad roads. Was just afraid of making it too tight and bending the link in the event of hitting a pothole for example.

Draglink tension

Replaced the cups, springs etc on the draglink....how tight should the springs be?
The new ones are slightly longer than the old ones, guess the old ones are just worn. I turned the tension screws deep enough for the split pin to fit +- another half turn.

Saw a nice tip in the local paper....take a 2L cool drink bottle and fill it with sand, put the cap back on and drop in the cistern of the loo, thus a 2L saving on each flush.

We try to use each other's bath water as much as possible. Limit toilet flushes as far as hygienically possible (and don't flush waste that can go into the dustbin) Sprinkler system program changed to literally just keep the lawn from dying off Leaves from trees left in flower beds to retain moistur...

On this side of the planet you only get this at the bike shops or at the larger bike tire and accessory outlets. Dont even bother with the normal automotive outlets .... Just plan ahead for the next service and pick up the parts ahead of time. Het dit probeer...nie eers Full Throttle hier het gehad...

10W40 motorcycle oil

So I decided to do the 54 000 km service myself....R3500 at the agents every 6 000km's is just not on. Always been a fan of Liqui Moly and they have 2 variants in the 10W40..the normal 4T and then the street race variant, but no-one in the entire Pta area stocks it...only the normal car oil :frustra...

Don't disagree there, with the key words being competent and enforcement. One could add integrity as well but it seems to be a swearword in SA these days

I also agree with Andy, rules should make sense and IMO be reasonable and readily available so that motorists could comply

Would LOVE some more roadblocks - not only on the highways, but in town. MOST of the "blinding lights" relate to poorly maintained vehicles and miss-alligned lights. Then off course the drivers using high beams .... These have been increased on the road I use to work...more of an annoyanc...

Hoe lekker is die reen van gistraand en vanoggend net nie...perfekte verskoning om die SFA te vat eerder as die Ninja, daar's net een probleem....die SFA staan onder die afdak by die werk en nie langs die viswaters nie.... :cry:

Very happy with Spectramed's hospital plan so far....I initially thought it was a mickey mouse plan but turned out be top notch. Mentioned it on Chris' thread as well, of a >R140k hospital bill we paid only about R2k for a specialized X-ray they did not cover, oh and a pair of crutches, even the ort...

ek's nou nie 'n ekspert nie maar dit klink amper of die ding nie rerig in neutral is nie. Ek sou by die selector en clutch/torque converter begin fout soek. As daar 'n tipe transmission brake op is kan dit dalk die simptome verduidelik.

I would venture an estimate at +- R130k
Decent Kz's are still desirable, mileage not that high and at the price of a new Hilux I think one should get that easy....even SFA's are still reaching R100k

This is why I got a hospital plan only; I pay the day to day stuff cash and claim everything from SARS....and the best of all is that their (Spectramed) cover in hospital is far better tham any med aid I've dealt with including these fancy "professionals only" med aids Swambo's broken ankl...
