Re: 2010 Fortuner rear diff lock actuator giving error codes
Hi John. The electric actuators are prone to becoming "sticky", mostly due to water ingress which turns the grease inside into goo. I would suggest that as a first step to remove, strip, clean, re-lube and re-fit the actuator. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Hi Harry. The tyres should fit without fouling on the standard off-set rims. The question is how much further out the replacement rims will sit. The rear is not a problem, it's the front that will be the issue - with a wider off-set the outer arc of the wheel on turns will be bigger and that's where...

The fuel cut-off solenoid is certainly one of the better options, electrical cut-offs are easily bypassed. However the fuel cut-off must also be well hidden because if they see it they will just bypass it as well, either physically or electrically with a jumper.

Very typical of most torque converters. doesnt take much rev increase from the motor side to engage, but needs a lot more from the g-box side before it grips. Best is to use 1st gear low-range which will help spin the converter from the gearbox side, but if it's still "running away" 1L 4x4...

It really doesn't make sense to put the old bearing cups back. Even if you put them back exactly in the same places and orientation as they were, they won't be microscopically in the exact positions and there will be new wear as they seat in again. You've got it all out, so now is the time to do it....

The sensor, if it has one (not all vehicles have), is normally fitted in the cap of the brake fluid reservoir. In such case there will be wires to the cap. If there are no wires, then the vehicle is not fitted with a sensor.

Brembo are good with very little fade. You can't go wrong there.
