My new ride
I just bought this beauty and I know I may get a lot of flack from you guys, but I DO still have my Lux KZTE.
We looked for a long time to find a good towing SUV that has low range and is a capable 4x4, and after having driven the Jeep, I was seriously impressed with the smooth drive and road holding. We are going to have to change the way we camp, but that makes up for the awsome drive, maybe just get an offroad trailer or caravan sometime?

Congrats man... there's absolutely nothing wrong with a Jeep... except for the fact that it's a Jeep.

Re: My new ride
Thanx guys, I hope to get years of good service from it. Unfortunately Im back at work and can only get to drive her again in a few weeks. I only had 4 days of driving before coming back to work, so you can imagine "my gat jeuk om weer to gaan ry". Going for a week or more to the wild coast next month, so will see what she can get up to. Some good R+R and fishing along the coast.

Re: My new ride
Did an awsome trip up the wild coast April/May, now she has 5400km on ther clock and still going strong. We went up as far as Port St Johns and then took the 4x4 route down to Coffee Bay. The roads were very rutted out in parts and quite wet and slippery in parts after the rains, but she handled very well, no issues with ground clearance or climbing ability. im very impressed with the performance all round. We managed to get a descent consumption of 12.6 km\l between Jeffreys Bay and Cape Town, travelling 120km\h, occasionally a bit over. In town she gets about 10 to 10.5 km\l.
All in all a very comfortable ride and pleasure to drive. Next test will be to see how she performs when towing my boat. Then next year a leka long trip to Namibia, but for that I will need to get a trailer first for the camping and fishing gear. She sleeps very comfortably inside with the back seats dropped down, but will need a trailer for all the extra gear for a fewe weeks trip.
I still love my Lux, but the Jeep definately drives smoother, has much more power and is much lighter on fuel. the jeep on the other hand cant carry as much stuff or take a roof top tent. You cant win them all, so for now I'll enjoy the ride and get a trailer.
Cheers
Ian
