toyota diff's

Post by fastfrench »

hoping someone can please help me solve identify which diff type i have.
also hoping i wont get vloeked at for telling you that the hilux back axle has been shortened down and is now in the back of my ford anglia. the toyota axles and gearbox [21r] are just so strong i had to use them to handle the 350bhp nitrous ford engine.
the unit is a 4.875 ratio, the centre comes out complete like the old ford anglia. drums are finned type. there is no identity code tag on the casing so i dont know what type it is. i want to buy a couple of centre sections so i can have limited slips to use for drags 4.875 and road something like a 4.3-3.9. can anybody help with information.

Yeah okay fast frenchy, we can probably help you, but then you will have to display a HILUX4X4.CO.ZA forum sticker on your Anglia next time you race...

Post a pic of the diff, I am sure the guys who know will be able to tell you. BTW, Welcome to the forum, now when do you plan on purchasing the rest of the Hilux?

Count the splines if its 30 its from a pickup. The last one looks like its from the v6 pickups with the 2 crospins. ring gear should measure 8"
