Samsung Tablets & Apps
Hi guys.
I got myself and my wife each a Samsung 10.1" Tab
I'm very new with this and am sure I haven't even scraped the service when it comes to nice applications.
Who of you out there are also using Samsung Tablets and what nice app's are there?
Is there a way to run T4A maps on the Samsung Tab or can Windows OS be loaded?
One nice application I'm using is "Latitude", with this app my wife can trace me anywhere in the world, I know most of you would joke and say that that must be the worst app ever, but look at it this way, I work offshore all over the world and this app allows my wife to better understand where I am at any given moment even if it's far away from land somewhere on the big blue ocean.
It's nice if you don't know where "Monrovia" is (it's where I am at this moment) and youd like to get a better picture. It also works very well as a live tracking system, so my wife can view the movements of the vessel I'm on and I can see when she is driving to the mall again,
Anyway, please share the apps you think could also be of use to others.

HI Johannes,
I have been using a samsung 7" tablet for about 2 years now. Great units and best of all there are 1000's of usefull apps that are free. pm me your email address and I will send you a app link that allows you to share your app with other samsung users. alternatively register with google play and look up one called share your apps or something like that. I too managed to load google earth on it which is great. android is so much happier in sharing than apple. good buy.
cheers,
Matt

Re: Samsung Tablets & Apps
Hey
You do get tablets that have Windows 7 installed instead of Android. But then you can just as well stick to your laptop because a tablet with Windows 7 will be a downgrade from a laptop IMHO. Not sure how Windows 8 will change this . . .
Another thing is you can't have any of those nice android apps if you install Windows . . .
Another option might be to get a second tablet with Windows on it and then take the two tablets and leave the laptop at home . . .

Re: Samsung Tablets & Apps
My S2 also runs Andriod, to date the most useful and time consuming app is crazy birds... free via Google Play...
Another useful one is Tasker, it allows you to control the device is a mirad of different ways, like turning the wifi and 3G modem off when the screen is off, or connecting to the internet when the screen is activated. There's many many things you can do with it, like turn on your favourite media player when headphones are plugged in. It costs around R50 and is most useful!
I also use ConnectBot for work, this app is a SSH client, it allows me to control our Unix/Linux based servers anywhere in the world from my cellphone!
