electric timers

Post by Hannes Meyer »

:bye:

Normally the connections should be marked since they are not all configured exactly the same. The tree at the bottom will most likely be •Live supply •bridged to live supply (for the clock) •Neutral

The two on top should be marked L1 and L2 (load one and load two - Live and Neutral respectively) to which you would connect your timed device (the load).

Just had a look at some specs online .... seems like the connection I suggested may be incorrect. Will try get more specifics and try answer your question.

What I did notice is that it's rated at 16 Amps ...... if you're intending to use it for a geyser, it might be a little light if you're running a 3KW element which will draw about 14 Amps .... a little too close to the rated capacity for my liking. It will work, but for how long before it takes too much strain (heating up). A 2.5 KW element or less would be fine, but if it's a 3 KW I would rather install a contactor (basically a 220v relay) together with the timer so that the timer doesn't carry the load of the element.

Just give me a while to confirm the connections. ;-)

P.S. See that some other guys have responded .......

So soos ek dit uitmaak is die twee bo vir stroom in

Stroom in 'Neutral' is #1 bo

1 is live
2 is neutral
3 is normaly close
4 is commin
5 is normaly open
