The fact that it's called a '91 hilux surf 2.4td' should mean that is already has a turbo and is diesel... td = turbo diesel...

Snipes I think he want to fit a device that keeps the engine running after you switch it off for a certain time to keep the oil flowing through the turbo to cool it down properly , aka Turbo Timer

Well in my defence the thread subject(Re: fitting a turbo timer) and thread content(...fit timer for a turbo to a 91... ) lead to a bit of confusion...

I'm not feeling all that bright today! I think the KZTE gang will be able to assist here!

As far as I know it is illegal to fit a turbo timer. You are not allowed to leave a running vehicle alone.

According to me it should be easy to fit a turbo timer. You just need a delay on your ignition. 3wires max. almost like fitting a :?: Imobilelizer :?: to a vehicle.

fitted it the other day, a very easy job, one positive wire one negative one wire on the ignition and another on the accessories and then all done, i have mine set to 1 minute any more and its just wasting fuel, but make sure u keep it hidden because it makes it easy for someone to hot wire the car if they can get past the imobaliser if u have one.
