Guys from the 4x4Comm are having their 1st GTG at the end of Septemebr and I am sure some of our members will be there too. Let's see how it all pans out and then maybe we can try again. I think their's are at Colesberg or in that area - hence being the most central GTG area which suits most.

Enige sekondante?

Further to some suggestions made by OOOOMS, HennieJ2 and Hentey, the purpose of this thread is to discuss the possibility of organising and having a national Club Get Together somewhere in the geographical center of the Republic of South Africa... let rip guys...

Thys, if we get good feedback from the above exercise, I second you to be the organiser. They might be a much bigger group, but we are suppose to have trusty vehicles, so we should be able to make the long journey down to Colesberg

Ek twyfel of ons enige iemand sal uitlaat - the more the merrier!!

Quick response from the men in Toyo steel - thanks. Now, let's debate dates. I see potential in the next:
1.) 22 March -Human Rights day  - Monday (bad to go back and work on the Tuesday though)
2.) 27 April - Freedom day  - Tuesday (might throw in a day's leave)
3.) 24 September - Heritage day  (nice - especially for us construction workers on a pay week-end, so the Monday off too)

The rest I have ignored as Easter week-end wil have high traffic volumes on the N1 and also due to the religious nature of the week-end. The others are during winter (16 June & 9 August) June also sees he soccer world cup and a lot of overlander are going to the neighbouring coun(trees) during winter for their annual holiday

Floor is open for discussions!!!!

These are probably the 2 best options, as Sept is too far into the future, and a lot of water will flow under the bridge from now to then.

Allrighty then - it looks like this date is suitable for most - lets wait app. 2 more days and if no other suggestions are comming forward, we fix the date and start selecting the organising chair person (could be woman folk too) and committee? My suggestion would to have a chairman with a Northern and a Southern co-ordinating team. Any other suggestions? :?:

While we wait to fix the date, we might as well start thinking how we want it to be:
1) Are we going big with all possible bells and whistles with sponsors and exhibitors?
2) Do we keep it small and personal with a couple of new friends and family?

The 2 options above is what dictates the amount of effort required.

Ek is skoon jaloers - Ek vlieg more Kaapstad toe vir 'n troue, en daar is nie genoeg spasie in my bagasie vir Caleb nie,
so hy sal by die huis moet bly.
