After de-cat of Prado 4,0L V6

Post by Dingo »

I've noticed that after I de-catted my V6 that she tenders to smoke on start-up in the mornings, has anyone else noticed this after de-catting their V6's

At first I thought it was oil smoke/valve stem seals, but you can smell fuel rather than oil. At the last service I ask Toyota to check that all the sensors were working and all was good.

Any ideas????

No problem like that on my de-cat'd 4L V6... I believe the O2 sensors need to warm up a bit before they give accurate air/fuel readings.

Is it not related to the lower ambient morning temperatures in winter?

I have 208 000 km's on the clock, the consumption improved by around 1L/100km's. I also had a roof rack on that I now take off when not in use and the further improved the consumption by almost another 1L/100km's. I'm now about 1,5-2L/100km's better off.
