Hi Guys
As promised, here's more details about my Hilux:
It used to be the recovery vehicle on the McCarthy 4x4 club - so it really worked hard, they did not save it, and yet, after refurbishing the drivetrain from front to rear (except front diff), it is in a good condition. Losts of battle scars underneath - but it is still fairly neat from mthe outside after having received a re-spray before I got it.
I converted the 4Y to EFI after playing with a Weber carb, and then finally converted to the 7M.
It has a canvas canopy, extra fuel tank, nice BFG tyres, and I had the seats refinished in the correct matching cloth.
This is still the Botswana Spec Hilux with tail lights mounted high up.
What more can I say - I love it, and would not let it go unless I really really really have to!
The picture was taken at Hennops, where no ordinary IFS 4x4 without traction control or diff-locks would be able to match this old Hilux with its nice articulation. My Hilux has no diff locks of course.

Hi Arthur,
Your Hilux looks great, and is a most capable vehicle!
Hmmm.... now why does that sound so familiar? Although I don't think I would go to the 7M level, and yet you never know!

You must be very careful, if I were to disable your locker you are going to struggle to follow an unlocked Hilux.

I know Bennie. I know. :)
But I would like to follow a SFA and compare the two. Just to see for myself.
This "challenge" could be an excuse for a weekend get-together
Wil nie julle SFA manne kwaad maak nie. :|
