Bryan and Lani checking in from Rwanda
Hope all our Hilux buddies back in SA are doing well. We managed to make it up and loop around Lake Victoria. Currently in Kigali, but leaving back into Tanzania tomorrow. Our itinerary is then Malawi and South Mozambique before exploring SA. Anyone got any good secret tips on places to visit anywhere on route?
We have also listed (very reluctantly) our glorious bakkie for sale. Please pass the link on to anyone who might be interested.

PS I have attached a few pics to whet your appetite for the big slideshow night on our return to Cape Town!

Shouldn't have taken too long to find the lions with that bait on the roof in your first pic

Re: Bryan and Lani checking in from Rwanda
Well, after having travelled 27500km so far we finally managed to meet up with Bryan and Lani last night. We had a braai and after / during dinner exchanged lots of interesting stories around the dinner table. What a trip they have had so far
Bryan told me they have handed out over 160 soccer balls during their travels the past 6/7 months!
Before we knew it it was 00h00 and time for a good nights rest. This morning we had breakkie and they are heading off to:
Sabie area
Phalaborwa / Kruger for a couple of days
Swaziland
St Lucia
Durban
Lesotho
Natal coast through the Transkei
East London
Port Elizabeth
and the ending up in CT! (with mad Thys / Hoppy )
Another http://www.hilux4x4.co.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; sticker was fitted so you should be able to spot em easy :wink2:
Bryan looking relaxed Bryan and lani: Note the map book for the next days route planning :wink2: Here is their latest blog link:

Bryan and Lani were complaining bitterly as during their 27500km travels so far they had still not seen any leopard or cheetah ....
Well yesterday morning I received this SMS from 'em :!:

Hi Mark, so we saw a leopard walk across the rd in front of us, 7 lions up close & 3 cheetah's about 10 metres away! We are ticking off the cats. Love Kruger

Re: Bryan and Lani checking in from Rwanda
Hi guys,
Miraculously Lani is still yet to pick up a fine in S.A......although we aren't holding our breath on that one
Made it to Durban today after a fantastic few days touring around Cape Vidal, St Lucia and Eshowe. Next stop Lesotho, but we just heard the bloody Sani Pass is blocked with a landslide and a washed out river. It means a huge round trip to enter via the west, but we figure it is worth it. Anyone heard anything recently (ie in the past few days) about the condition of Sani Pass?
Thanks to Mark for keeping everyone up to date with our blog, hope our African Driving 101 didn't offend!! But you Afrikaaner's are maniacs on the road...he he
Cheers

Mark,
Thanks for searching for us. That is a bugger, it is the same info we heard from a couple of Belgians who were there last week....we were just hoping that the road fairies had paid the Sani Pass a visit and rebuilt it for us. No luck though!
