Looking forward to seeing the motor completed and fitted! :D:

Eek glo nie daar is n goedkoop conversion nie

as ek al die nuwe parte soos, sparkplugs, olie filter, waterpomp, oliepomp, starter, clutch ens ens ens, fly wheel skim, heads skim, block boor ens bymekaar tel draai ek al by 17k, dan is die goed wat ek self maak nie by nie, daar moet nog na n radiator ook gekyk word, branches en exuast. Ek moes maar net n nuwe korean of my ou 4y oor gedoen het, baie minder probleme en dan het my lux al lankal geloop, maar my g@t het gejeuk en ek is mos altyd slim. Trevor,

So dis hier waar ek julle raad nodig het. Praat met my, moenie skaam wees nie....

Trevor,

Daai voertuie is reliable gebou.

So daar moet vinnag n ordentelike blok kom of ek koop more die 4y en sit hom in. Maar vir eers moet my lux loop, hy kan nie so staan nie.

To my mind a re-bore is the last resort. Just for the primary reason that the case hardening of the cylinder walls is usually milled away since the penetration of the hardening isn't very deep. The motor then doesn't last as long before the cylinders are worn again. A secondary reason is that the gasket facing is slightly reduced, making it more possible for gasket failure. A re-sleeving is always a better option, but I cannot understand why it's so expensive in this case .... maybe I'm just out of touch with prices. How much are they quoting you for just a re-bore?

Perhaps an alternative is to check if there is anyone in RSA that does re-sleeving at a more competitive price that makes it worthwhile incl. courier costs. Or someone that does re-conditioning of blocks on an exchange basis where you can get one that's still got case hardening or been re-sleeved.

If I think of any other viable suggestions, I'll post here.
Good luck, Trevor! ;-)

Trevor, daar is jou antwoord, in jou eie woorde! Doen so, begin stadig die bits 'n pieces te kry vir 'n EFI conversion, en go for it!
