brakes
Hi, the brakes on my Hilux is not working. It was using brake fluid. The cylinder on the rear right was leaking. I have replaced the cylinder and couldn't manage to bleed it until it works again. It was getting hard when pumping but as soon as I start the engine the brake peddle collapse. Then I have replace the master cylinder and still the same. I need help please.

Re: brakes
Hi Marius, accordingly my workshop manual of my sfa you work from the longest line in the system down to the shortest. Is it correct to bleed the LSV at the last as it is not the shortest ?Knuppel wrote:Remember the bleeding sequence, left rear, right rear, left front, right front & then LSP VALVE!!!!! dont forget it.
Should it not be bleeded after the right rear wheel before starting with the left front wheel?

Re: brakes
Hi Dawie, yes you could do it like that. The reason for me doing it and explaining it this way is that some vehicles have a return line from the LSPV, if you don't bleed that one last then you will be bleeding forever. Now it is easier to remember the sequence and it does not matter on the vehicles that dont have a return line.
Have always done it this way once I learnt the trick and have always had success first time round.

Thanks for the replies. I am not a mechanic, what is the LSPV and where is it situated.

Re: brakes
load sense proportioning valve
It is attached to the chassis cross member close to the left rear wheel. It should have a lever from it attached to the rear axle which should push up when you have a load in the bin

Re: brakes
Some feedback. I found the lspv and bleed it according to the sequence described and it worked. The problem is solved. Thank you for your help.
