Heh... I just missed the Engel fridge by ONE number! I chose 97, the lucky ticket holder held ticket #96! ;)


But I did win a Spot Prize, tyre repair kit! :)

OT: Bernie Williams was one of the DJs on OFM (regional FM Radio Station in Free State & North West). A very pleasant guy and sorely missed. I used to love his Sunday shows, played all the good ol' 80s music. He then ran the MW franchise in Bloem, but I never realised he had moved on to H/O.

he is still technically based in Bloem but spends a lot of time up here as he is their PR guy, runs their 4x4club etc.

Thanks Doug! He certainly is a good choice for that, but seems that OFM is losing out on a lot of good DJs... second one to have left that I liked. Mike Roston (sp?) used to do their evening show from 7 - 11PM, have no idea who does it now, I stopped listening to it a year ago. I'm not a Rap fan.

FD we have the same problem here in the Cape. Good broadcasters move on and are replaced with .... well people with a "different taste" .....


I am not old enough to know LM - well did hear my parents talk about it, but not young enough for these modern broadcasters ....

My sister also worked at OFM for a few years, but she wasn't a DJ, she compiled the news reports and sometimes read the news.

OFM was great when they played 60s - 80s music, but some of the stuff they play now puts ears on 5FM...

Thank goodness for LM Radio!

Guess I'm the only one who remembers listening to Tinky Pringle (currently on LM) and Reg de Beer, who comes on from 19:00 to 23:00.
