I was planning to go to Klipvoordam next week. Maybe you travellers know of beter and interesting places. There will be no children, dogs or african grays travelling with (no offense). I am looking for a quiet place (no doef doef), nice scenery, some hiking trails maybe, birding and just to enjoy nature. I know it can be a bit late for bookings etc etc but let see what come up.
4*4 regards
Where to from Pta for 7 days ?

There is Quite a nice place that i am sure you will enjoy.
ive been there many times and it is Absolutely amazing.
Doorndraai Dam. Its close to Naboomspruit. Very Cost effective and away from everything.
Google - "Doorndraai Dam" and there you will find their Details and everything else you need to know

Thanks Marco, it is indeed and being without electricity all the reasons to have fire all the time.
I was also thinking going to Moremi / Chobe, but it sounds like one has to chase there and back to have a reasonable relax time up there and there might be a Pienk Winkel or two along the road to visit aswell. I will then rather make the trip shorter and enjoy it, am I under the wrong impression ?
Mark I haven't thought about that one thanks - never being there.

well the choice is up to you. But it is relaxing and there is alot of wildlife there. also some walking trails which are also nice.
there are a few shops along the way, depending on which way you drive there. Cellphone signal you can only pick up at the main gate if you are lucky! this would be my first choice. during the week you will probably be the only people there. but on the weekends it does get a little busy ( like any other place).
wherever you go! Enjoy it
