Another American muscle classic was the Corvette. Personally I'm not that attached to the new generation shape but the 3rd gen (1968 to 1982) still does it for me.
in 1982 I was on the verge of buying a red '80 model with targa top (same as the yellow one in the pics), 2nd hand with very low kms but was dissuaded with great effort after 2 days of haggling with family members who eventually convinced me that it was not the right car for someone wanting to start a family. I should have bought it!

The middle child of the engine line-up is the 3.7 V6 that's capable of 227kW.
