DStv alternatives ??

Post by ChrisF »

One of the high points of DStv was the extra motor sport over the December holidays, at least in past years.

The last holiday I was at home and often channel hopped.

one review of the Superbike season

one review of the MotoGP season

Did not see either of these repeated.

one episode of the world championship enduro bike racing - nice but the way it was presented was boring after the first 15 minutes. this was repeated a couple of times.

Where was the Race of champions ?? Past years had multiple episodes of this.

Where was the insane big foot stunt racing ?? Again, previous years had multiple episodes and multiple re-runs.

where was the:
WRC
British touring cars
German/World touring cars
?
?

Kyk ek is nou plein gatvol vir DStv !!

All this said, WHAT are the alternatives to DStv ??

Tried Toptv .... uhmmm, nee dankie

Anybody doing any "live streaming" ?? How does this work? What type of internet connection do you need, and costs ??

ek soek nou erg na n alternatief ....

Also looking into an alternative..........R 700/month for the drivel they broadcast - and then REPEAT constantly is daylight robbery akin to Sanral & E tolls!!!!!!

DSTV = Alzheimer’s TV!!!!! They keep on shifting the same programs to other channels; their program adds is the same year in and year out. It’s not worth paying R700 to watch cricket and rugby, I’ve downgraded a long time ago to the R175 pm package only because of picture quality.

please tell more of the package you are on ....

I am considering a "smaller package" , so the wife has something to look at during the day.

Netflix.com It is movies on demand watched over your internet connection. I have a 1md adsl and it works fine. Not the latest movies but not too far behind. Lots of stuff for kiddies as well.

Yes you have to install the mediahint extension first. I have 1mb adsl line with 20gb cap and it is enough for us.
