Aluminium Doors/Windows - Fabrication

Hi guys,

Hoping get some "collective" wisdom or wisdom from the "collective". My son's bedroom consists of 2 sections, main room(part of main dwelling) and a built-on play-area(almost like a braai room, flat roof). I need to put a door between the 2 sections(for warmth and noise isolation), but it's a non-standard size 1670mm w x 2050mm h. I want to install an alu/glass double door so that the through way can be opened fully, unlike a sliding door. Do you guys think R 6000 is reasonable for this type of thing? Do any of you have contacts in and around Cape Town I could call for quotes?

R6k does not sound outrageous for that, though I am no expert.

I do know that the "stacking" doors are quite expensive, but they work great if you want to be able to open the whole space. I used Anglo Windows to replace all my windows and doors at the beach house, and I am very satisfied with their work. Worth asking them for a quote. They are based in Brackenfell, contact number 021-982 8477.

The opening is a few insignificant mills off the standard size for double doors and frame, so I assume that the R6k includes the supply and fitting of both frame and glazed doors. If that is indeed the case, then the quoted price for a finished job is more than decent. No harm in phoning around for better quotes, but choose someone that's reputable.
