2014 AAWDC gauteng - JEEP CLUB comes out tops

well , morning
seeing as thou the hilux 4x4 club never entered the event this year ,
i was approached by the jeep club to join their team
they entered 2 full teams (blue and red) ,
the blue team (which i was a part of ) was the initial team made up of some descent and capable drivers

some coming from as far as witbank and middelburg

the red team was only entered in later

so at the end of the day , the blue team came out tops and ended 1st (6725 points)
and the red team placed 2nd ( 6355 points )
the team from secunda offroad club placed 3rd ( 6130 points )

so from the the whole of the hilux club i saw cassie (marshall) and oetie (marshal)

Would loved to be there to marshal, but was assisting with an LDC course for the kids.

it was a pity not seeing the usual faces marshalling
looks like cassie was playing watchdog

thanks oom thys ,it has been a good last couple of weeks between bridgestone , efs and aawdc now

and as you probably know and would agree - jeep just makes obstacles seem a little flat

Congratulations Shaun. It is sad that the Hilux club does not really compete in these completions any more. I enjoyed it a lot. It is also sad that so few of the club members wants to compete in these competitions. I know every time there is a competition we struggle to get 10 vehicles to get a full team.

Jeepie is right about the Jeeps that make obstacles look level. Well done to the blue Jeep team, you guys did great. A lot of discussion and planning and conference was done between the red team drivers and navigators as well.
