Wonder if they can base jump from there if a storm suddenly moves in?

We were installing a radio antenna at the Sentech mast in Hartbeesfontein some years back. Although the mast is some 300m high, we were only required to install the antennae at the 200m mark. Blue skies turned to grey then to black and all hell broke loose, with lightning, lashing rain and hail. There was no way the guys could have climbed up or down in this, but there are rest-platforms every now and then and they crouched under one of these when they were about 150m up. The storm passed after a couple of hours, typical Highveld storm, and they finished the job.

Wat ek weer wonder is, daar heel bo is net drie sulke spikes,... wat gaan hulle regmaak?

OK, well how about this one that's a lot more 'tame' with side railings ans a viewing platform on top .... looks like an interesting hiking trail as well.

Ek sou dalk nog binne die ding op geklim het maar daai free climbing gedeelte... toe nou nie.

En wat nou as hy nou eventually daar bo uitkom en dan besef wat ook al gisteraand of vanoggend geeet het akkomodeer nie so mooi met sy maag nie

Ek bou en rig ook torings op. My hoogste is 54m net buite Wolmaransstad op die Leeudoringstad pad. Ek betaal n rigger om daai toring te klim tydens oprigting. Ek verdomp staan nie eers regop bo-op my bed nie !!
