Well on Saturday i bought this new toy

Filled it up at Petroport and then again outside Polokwane
9.86KM/L I was like :wth:

I'm not planning any thing big with this one just blow some new life in the old hilux.
Body and interior needs the most attention.

Dis 'n '88 model.
Heeltemal standaard maar hy het harde plaas kilos agter die blad.
Nuwe Midas 2.2 4Y motor so 20 000 km terug gekry, diffs en ratkas lyk en klink nog 100%

Buks hy het my R35 000 gekos
Na beraming moet ek so R20 000 - R25 000 Spend.
Dink ek het so 10 000 teveel betaal maar ek weet ook die S/C raak skaars.............

Iets pla my, as ek na die bak se hoeke kyk is daai ñ 1990/1991 model? Dis mos al wanneer daai bak gebruik is.

Het hierdie hilux afgeneem toe ek laas jaar gaan blomme kyk het, dit was by Loeriesfontein, daar is baie van hulle in baie goeie toestand.

Volgens my kennis is die loadbins gebruik sederd vroeg 1980's

Kyk na die boonste hoeke van die bin, langs die tailgate. Nuwer modelle loop reguit op en ou modelle loop teen 'n angle.

Die outop het heelwat grondpad geloop maar ons gaan al die skeurkies, kraakies en duikies uithaal dan lyk en ry hy weer heel bakgat.

The previous okes fitted washers for spacers on the front rims to prevent it from touching the tierods....

Guess i'll need four rims / mags.

While you at it i would suggest removing the fenders and panel below the windscreen to access the water run off chanel. Its prone to rusting if not already. Spray it with Dura Bak or similar.

i remember having the same problem with my SC SFA.
Once coming home from Arniston had a tyre burst on N2. Thankfully buddy kept it under control.

once stopped began the race to get back wheel to the front and spare on the back (before 'campers' along N2 came to affrimative shop)... not sure what was the problem... maybe spare was different wheel, but it looks just like the other steel rims. But that spare would also touch some arm at the front

Will look in to that as well,
Doubt i'll have a rust issue on this van. my biggest problem is that the seams on the load bin are cracked and loose

Lekker bakkie George. Dis n jammerte jy is so ver, ek het n ARB bumper wat ek gekoop het vir my SFA, nou le dit net hier rond.Die ding het so bietjie TLC nodig maar hy is nog bruikbaar. Ek skenk hom sommer vir jou projek.Maar om hom in LT kry gan jou net soveel kos soos n nuwe bumper.
