Women are definitely from Venus

Post by wazungu »

I need to share something with some like minded folk who could possibly sympathise with me. So I've been spending a lot of time on the Lux getting her ready for short and long bush trips. The list is endless as you all know, RTT, Alu canopy, dual Battery, etc etc etc. The Girlfriend is very keen on the outdoors ( and both being Honorary Rangers)and has enjoyed helping me buy all the lekker stuff from Tentco etc to get the lux ready for the future trips

The time has come for a trip , we off to do a duty in a rustic bush camp in KNP which is one of our fund raising events. There are absolutely no facilities so it's ideal to take the lux with all the goodies packed, including gas shower and water tank.

Anyway so you can appreciate my excitement and prospect of getting to use the Lux and all the toys I've accumulated that have cost a small fortune over the years.

Guess what the GF suggests last night...... She says Dear why don't we go with Louis in his LANDROVER to Kruger as it will be cheaper to share the cost of fuel etc!

I am still speechless !!! :naah: :o:

i would rather gargle with wasps than sit in a LANDROVER for 10 hours as a passenger. I also don't want to be laughed at standing next to the road with my hands full of oil!!

Tarquin I like your idea of saving the money for more goodies but I just don't think I could bring myself to betray my beloved Hilux!

Let her go with in the LR.

You just follow as a backup vehicle in your Hilux and let her experience first hand as to why it
was a bad idea to go with them in the first place. Then you can reap the rewards and gloat at the same time

The ring is the most expensive item to buy, you land up paying for it for the rest of your life. :siffler:

With a lot of trepidation and a a Rose pot plant in hand I came home and showed her the thread , sy het lekker ge lag ( sy is a boeremeisie not a rooineck like me) so I was very relieved. I just think woman think differently to us and look at things in a more practical manner sometimes,( esp this one).
Our joy of a trip is not only the trip but the preparation and seeing our own efforts and handy work put to work.especially in a Hilux!!
So tonight I'm hopefully not on the couch.
PS I just came inside from stripping the gear lever out as I need to change the bushes and there were no grumbles so I'm safe I think
