I have read on other forums about some travellers that had some really bad experiences with regards to being robbed in camp whilst asleep, some being robbed in places like Windhoek and others that suffered some serious losses in some of our local camp sites also and some even being shot at and injured.
Now I would like to ask, what measures do you take to be safe when camping out in the wilderness and what should we start to look at as added measurements that is practical???
Do you set up booby traps that wake you up or do you sleep with your one eye open and one ear listening all the time... Lets hear it from our campers..

Outside Upington we stayed on one of the islands.
The owner walked the camp at sunset and asked that we ensure all valuable are "out of sight". Late night "others" walk the camp site and looked for easy pickings ....

Re: Campsite & travel security
Mense kyk nie hoe hul bure in kampplek lyk nie. Ek gebruik nou die volgende as ek my sleepwa afhaak
