Helping a Club Member fix his SFA.
Today I want to ask for assistance for a fellow Club Member and friend.
Bit of background - Johan (Monsterlux) was retrenched in the beginning of this year and has been unable to find another job in his line of work (Mechanical Draughtsman). Currently he is doing semi-skilled labour to keep a roof over his head and food on the table.
Johan is a guy who is always more than willing to lend a hand and never expects anything in return - just look at my threads about the DIY Roofrack, he was right there drilling and riveting on the photos. If you go and take a look under his posts you will quickly see what I mean.
Things are not looking up and that’s why I decided to start this thread.
His pride and joy is a 1992 SFA Hilux with a 22R engine. Unfortunately it has not run since February.
He was busy doing an EFI conversion on it. Imported an EFI Intake and then sold off the old Intake/Carb to raise money for the other parts. Then the bad luck struck and he was without work thus no money to continue.
What I hope to achieve with this thread is being able to raise the parts to take his Hilux back to stock and get it on the road again. I am sure it will put a smile back onto his face and lift his spirit.
The parts we require, for a Toyota 22R engine:
Intake Manifold
Carburettor
Exhaust pipe – Least of my worries, but his is also rotten in places.
If there is anyone who can help us with one of the parts above, I would appreciate it enormously! Even if you are unable to donate it, send me a price so I can make a plan. If you are in JHB/PTA or Witbank/Middelburg I should be able to collect.
Between the two of us the labour will be no problem.
Thank you!
Derik

Sterkte!
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

Hallo Derik.
Pm my.

A wonderful gesture and great club spirit Derik! Respect!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
