Sealing the seams of a tent
During our last camp (with some serious bad weather) the tent for the first time leaked a few drops through the seam. What is the best proven remedy to seal it with? I have heard beeswax. Is there any other remedy?

Re: Sealing the seams of a tent
When I bought our little two-man tent from my aunt there was a little bottle of stuff which we jokingly referred to as bull semen, but which in fact is a silicone gel which you apply to seams. Never used it as the tent has never leaked, so I do not know if it works and how well. Maybe worth asking at larger places that specialises in tent sales?
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

Niel toe ek my canvas tent gekoop het by Tentco het ek stafies bye was by gekry.Die idee is dat jy jou tent moet opslaan in die son dat dit warm word, dan smeer jy daardie bye was op al die nate. Die tent lek dan geen water op die nate nie.

The bees wax is the old method from the days of canvas tents. It still works well but it's a bit of a tedious process, the silicon type sprays work well and are so much easier to apply.
