FORTUNER VIBRATES (ON THE PASSENGER SIDE) BEYOND 110 KM/H

Post by Alex2539 »

Hi there
Perhaps other fortuner drivers have experienced this. We have an 06 model Tuna, once the speed goes beyond 110 km/h i can feel it vibrating on the passenger side (also visible by observing the side mirror). Last year the dealer said it was the propshaft, they balanced it and replaced the joints. The vibration never disappeared, we changed shocks, balanced the wheels etc to no effect. We are currently using general grabbers. Mileage: 229000km

any advice?

Did balancing and new shocks make any difference at all?

I assume yours is the 4x4 right?

Could well be the tires, swop the two fronts around and see if the problem follows.

Hallo Alex.

Yes, I agree and would look here. Also, have the rim checked for any flat spot or kink (buckled rim).
