Hilux 4x4 Forum

Hi All,

Toying with the idea of the new lux vs driving around in one where bits and pieces keep being taken of it.... (Not saying it wont happen to a new one, but it seems like a good idea to at least take a look ).

Got a quote today from my current provider for R5374.00 per month on the new 2.8 4X4 D/C because they are currently experiencing high claim volumes on the new shape. Does this sound right? And my claim history is clean and includes household etc, etc, etc....

2016 model RAV4, about half the value of the new Hilux, R623 per month. Comprehensive insurance.

Thats ridiculous . I pay R1050 . Includes house hold , 2013 Everest , 2015 Hardbody 4x4 , 96 SFA .My Mother does my insurance :)

That's crazy, I insure my bakkie with Cross country insurance which is 4x4 insurance which is a 4x4 insurance that covers you when you go off road, most insurance companies dont cover your 4x4 when you go off road. I have 2 trackers and I pay roughly R900 a month.

Totally insane. With that premium you could pay for a new one in less than 10 years.

Changed providers, and for exactly the same premium that I am currently paying, I could insure both Hilux's for the same price.
