Re: Camp sites near Hermanus and West Coast
Strandkloofpark - baie netjies, mooi staanplekke puik badkamers, moet ry see toe ongeveer 3 kms - Uilkraalmond, Franskraal Gansbaai omgewing
Onrus - great vir kinders, see, rotse, klipvis vang stap afstand, veilige lugoon naby, Hermanus om die draai - lekker inkopies vir vrouens. Baie besig Desember - toilette goed, kampplek veilig - omhein en sekuriteit
Sal dalk nou sukkel om plek te kry by Onrus, skakel gereeld, dalk kanseleer iemand.

Re: Camp sites near Hermanus and West Coast
If Onrus is booked up, you may consider Voorhoede. http://campsa.co.za/voorhoede
About 5km outside Caledon, thus about 30 to 40km from Hermanus (not sure of the exact distance of the Hemel and Aarde road)
Nice clean campsite.
Ablution with hot water, no power, and thick tree cover so solar is useless.
Farmer has some nice 4x4 trails.
NOT the classic holiday by the sea. But a nice site all the same.

Re: Camp sites near Hermanus and West Coast
Thanks for the help guys. The only place we could still find an open spot at Hermanus was Paradise Park.
How shall I put it... Uhm, not quite our cup of tea (we're more Parks Board kind of people, Balule in KNP and Storms River Mouth stay our favourites). HOWEVER, the trees are plenty, so there's lots of shade, the facilities are more than adequate, and the ablutions are clean (enough).
We also stayed at Matroosberg, I'll post a pic soon...

Re: Camp sites near Hermanus and West Coast
Paradise Park - can be a bit a "festive" in the festive season ..... fine for some, but certainly not everybody's cup of tea
we have family that lives very close to Onrus caravan park. Thus we had a couple of walks past the park ..... not exactly how I remember it from previous years .....
