Evening guys

Our trip up to bots is fast approaching.
What's the general consensus on traveling with water.

Does one fill up all your water tanks at home before departing?
Can you fill up at camp sites (Khama rhino)?

Any advice welcomed.

Ryan personally I prefer known drinking water.

For dishes and washing any old water will do - with some disinfectant.

IF you have a split system - drinking water separate to the rest - then you need surprisingly little drinking water.

OR keep your primary tank for drinking purposes, with nice clean water. Then add a jerry can or two for water for the dishes and washing - these you can fill up as you travel.

In Botswana I get water at the bigger villages with borehole. In the group each person is responsible for their own drinking water [some buy bottled water as we go, others, like self, drink the village water [borehole water]
MILTON or JIK make for good water cleaining agents ..
In KASANE you can go the the WATER SUIWERINGS AANLEG in die hoofstraat [Naby Water Lilly Lodge]
Ghanzi trek ek lekker drinkwater by die Shell Garage
Ja, en soms is die water BRAK .. soo by Tshodilo .. dan is ek bly ek het op Nxau Nxau volgemaak.

Mac, we find filling up at home the easiest, albeit your trip starts with some additional weight.
At home we use a water dispenser which takes the 20 liter water bottles, and whenever we do long trips I fill the tank in my drawer system with 3 of these...currently costs R23 per bottle if we fill up at the Oasis outlets. Don't think you can buy still water for much cheaper...
Water for any other purpose I suppose you can find along the road as you suggested!

I always have water in my 55l tank on my camper which I top up at home.I use a product known as AQUA SALVEO which is available at Outdoors for about R50 for 10ml. This treats about 100l of water against all known bacteria in water and the bonus is that it is tasteless and odourless.Water treated with Aqua Salveo will remain safe for 24 months in storage.
