What is the correct name for those marker sticks on the old short nose Mercedes trucks?

Anybody know where I can find 2x of them please?

Those trucks would have been assembled at the local Mercedes plant here in E.L. but there is almost no chance that they will still have those as spares. I haven't seen them on any of the later model trucks and I know that once a model is discontinued for 10 years, they destroy all the spares for them that are left after the dealerships have placed last orders.

If the dealerships don't have, then the next option is the 2nd hand market - scrapyards and the like. I can try locally, but don't hold thumbs - those trucks must be somewhere between 20 and 30 yrs old. :winkx:

Ha ha, I think rather try 40 to 50 years old.

If I know the correct name it would be easier to search on the internet.

Did a bit of searching myself and see that they started with production of the L-Series in Germ, any as early as 1959.

Also don't know what they're called, tried a whole lot of different phrases and don't get anywhere. Local scrap merchants know what I'm talking about but none of them have.

We had a 1978 1113 and I also wanted some of those width indicators (also don’t know the correct term) but couldn’t find anywhere.

My dad also had one. Very slow but very special and reliable old trucks.

Check this one. Best Part starts at about 2:50

Seen that awesome clip before as well as another one where they chain 4 or 5 of these trucks together through some really deep mud on bad roads ... can't remember if they were Merc though. The 4wd version of these trucks are amazing ..... remind me of the Magirus trucks, or the old SA military SaMag version.

But i guess that why the old SFA's still keep their value and appeal.
